Third Person Shooters A.K.A. TPS: A classic example of a Third Person Shooter would be Max Payne, the more popular TPSs nowadays are Gears of War, GunZ: The Duel, Star-wars: Battlefront 2, Splinter-Cell: Double Agent and Resident evil 4. TPSs are quite rare games, but when the come along they are actually pretty decent games, with FPSs being annoying sometimes with the not being able to see your body and all sometimes a third person perspective can provide a nicer environment and a better view on life, also you can see your surroundings to the rear and side and use that to your advantage, usually TPS is fused with other genre's or FPS games will add a third person view.
